Learn how important both topsoils and subsoils are in a Passive Solar Greenhouse

In our first greenhouse we did not have access to subsoil as our greenhouse was built on a concrete pad. This greenhouse is open at the bottom which gives our plants access to both subsoil and top soil. Our greenhouse will have roughly 2 ft of subsoil at the bottom and 1ft of topsoil on top. As we grow in the greenhouse we will end up growing more top soil as the roots exude carbon and structure the subsoil with life.
